Gunther Defeats Jey Uso On 5/20 WWE Raw, Advances To King Of The Ring Finals

The Ring General is one step closer to becoming the king.

On the May 20 episode of WWE Raw, Gunther and Jey Uso faced each other in a semi-final match in the King of the Ring tournament. They threw everything they had at each other, as Gunther drilled Uso with chops and slammed him throughout the match. He also targeted Uso's arm, but Uso kept fighting.

In the closing moments, Uso dropped Gunther with a Spear, but Gunther accidentally took out the referee. Uso hit an Uso Splash, but the referee was slow to make the count. Gunther then trapped Uso in a sleeper hold and locked his legs around him, leaving him no other choice but to pass out. As a result, Gunther advanced to the tournament finals at WWE King and Queen of the Ring.

In the tournament finals, Gunther will face either Tama Tonga or Randy Orton, who will clash in the other semi-final on the May 24 episode of WWE SmackDown.

Gunther previously defeated Sheamus and Kofi Kingston to punch a ticket to the semi-finals, while Jey Uso defeated Finn Balor and Ilja Dragunov.
