Maxwell Jacob Friedman and Hangman Page opened up AEW Revolution in a heated battle between two of the top homegrown AEW stars.
Hangman Page got the victory with his Buckshot Lariat that followed a nasty and emphatic Angels Wings and a Dead Eye. MJF put up a fight, however. Page was nearly counted out after taking a Jumping Tombstone Piledriver onto a chair.
MJF appeared to get frustrated that Hangman Page kept coming back, audibly asking why Page got so much of the spotlight and was attributed the quality of leading character energy instead of him. In the end, MJF lost to the main character, but he did receive some praise from the Los Angeles crowd.
