Hulk Hogan Admits He 'Probably Should've Quit' Wrestling At The 20-Year Mark

Hulk Hogan is arguably the biggest star in wrestling history with an in-ring career that began in 1977 and lasted through 2012.

Hogan may not have had the most taxing in-ring style compared to many of the wrestlers today, but years of wear and tear and road travel take a toll on the body.

Speaking to Men's Health, Hogan was asked about the toll wrestling has done on his body.

"Wrestling has taken its toll. I wrestled almost 40 years, off and on, and I probably should have quit at the 20-year mark, but with Hulkamania running wild all those years and then when I turned into a bad guy and became Hollywood Hulk Hogan, it was like jumping on another lightning bolt and I had no idea that we were going to reinvent the wrestling business. So, I got hooked, I got sucked in, and I rode that thing until it dropped. Wrestling has been really tough on my body with multiple surgeries and injuries. Nobody gave me the memo that this stuff was fake," he said with a laugh.

Hogan has undergone multiple surgeries on his back throughout his career.

Hogan has previously said that he's wanted a retirement match and there were pitches for WrestleMania 39. Fans can check out his full comments by clicking here.
