Hulk Hogan remains one of the biggest stars in wrestling history and at the height of his popularity, he was one of the biggest entertainers in the United States.
He was so popular that pop stars took notice, according to him.
Speaking on the PBD podcast, Hogan commented on two times he had to turn down some major celebrity encounters.
“The thing that really shocked me with [being a celebrity], I was sittings at the twin towers one day with my wife at Vince’s birthday party, and this cop comes up and taps me on the shoulder. I said, ‘Yea, sir?’ I’m sitting with my wife, right? The guy goes, ‘Cher sent her limo for you, it’s downstairs, she wants you to come over and dine with her.’ I’m like, what? Cher? What are you talking about? He said, ‘Cher, the singer.’ I said get out of here, what are you talking about? But it was kind of weird because she thought she’d just send a car and I’d jump in and come running over there. No, brother [I didn’t go], come on. I was with my wife [laughs], I wouldn’t do that anyway. She sent the car for me.
"There was another one, when Madonna put that book out, I can’t remember what they called it, she had a party in New York City, and I was at the Garden that night. She sent a car to pick me up to come to her party, and once again, I was with my wife, and I’m not doing that stuff. Those things catch you off-guard."
Madonna released her book "Sex" in 1992.
Elsewhere during the interview, Hogan commented on his contract with WWE. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
