Ilja Dragunov vows to bring intensity to NXT should he capture the NXT Championship at the NXT Great American Bash 2023.
Since joining the American NXT brand full-time, Ilja Dragunov has not shied away from his intensity.
At WWE NXT Great American Bash, Dragunov looks to become the WWE NXT Champion when he steps into the squared circle with Carmelo Hayes. In the build to this match that will take place on July 30, Dragunov has allowed his intensity to dictate the story that will be told. Even if his actions in an impromptu brawl against Trick Williams on the July 25 episode of WWE NXT drew some polarizing reactions.
Speaking about the upcoming championship match with Cultaholic, Dragunov vowed to make NXT the most intense brand possible once he becomes NXT Champion.
"Being the face of NXT is dependent on what the people want," he said. "Do you want to have the most intense man in NXT being NXT Champion? Do you want to have the person with the biggest passion and the biggest intensity level, with the highest resilience, being the champion of the brand? Do you want the strongest possible person to be the champ of the brand? I don't know, but as soon as I am the NXT Champion, you will definitely have that. So, you will really have the most intense brand then."
Dragunov has yet to become a champion in NXT. He was the last NXT UK Champion before that brand was put on hiatus in order to make way for the NXT Europe brand.
