Ivelisse made her AEW debut in July and quickly became a featured player in the women's division despite not being under contract. Ivelisse would team with Diamante in the Deadly Draw Women's Tag Team Tournament, going on to win the whole thing.
Now, it seems as if her work paid off as she told Pro Wrestling Junkies that she's signed with AEW.
"I haven't been able to officially confirm anywhere yet, but I can confirm right now, and I asked if it was okay, that I am indeed signed to AEW," Ivelisse revealed. "Honestly, that moment was very emotional for me. Through the last couple of years have been really tough for me for so many reasons. Number one, Lucha Underground, and being kept through our contracts and all of that. Once that was finally terminated, it took a while to regain that momentum that was lost, and a combination of other things, and personal issues. It was kind of a really dark time. Nothing came from the WWE tryout, so once this AEW opportunity came up, I was just really happy. When the moment came that I heard the words, I got overwhelmed with emotion, especially because during that same week, the fire happened at my house. I was kind of at the end of my rope, I got emotional, and it was hard for me to contain it. I'm just incredibly happy. I feel something that I haven't felt in a really long time, which is hope for the future, feeling valued, and a sense of security."
AEW has yet to announce the signing.
Ivelisse made headlines during a recent bout against NWA Women's Champion Thunder Rosa when the match broke down, leading to stiffer strikes being thrown. Fightful provided details on the incident, which you can view by clicking here.
Ivelisse didn't go into details during the Q&A session, but she did seemingly confirm that there was an incident.
"I kind of expected this question to come up at some point," Ivelisse said. "I've made it a point to not respond to it since the whole thing came up. I won't comment much about it, but I will state obvious facts. When it comes to pro wrestling, I'm obviously the vet within the equation, so that pretty much should say a whole lot. Anyone that knows anything about pro wrestling, they can put two and two together with me being the vet within the equation, and also with the fact that I'm the type, I don't take people trying to disrespect me. With those facts, it's kind of self-explanatory what (happened), and anything that has to do with that topic."
Ivelisse last wrestled on AEW television on September 23 when she teamed with Diamante against Rosa and Hikaru Shida.
