Jack Perry Earns AEW TNT Title By Winning Ladder Match At AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Jack Perry defeated Konosuke Takeshita, Mark Briscoe, Dante Martin, Lio Rush, and El Phantasmo in a chaotic Ladder Match to capture the AEW TNT Championship at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2024.

Jack Perry was almost handed the vacated TNT Title by Matthew and Nicholas Jackson after it was vacated by Adam Copeland due to injury. However, interim AEW EVP Christopher Daniels demanded that Perry earn his opportunity and thus created this Ladder Match.

At Forbidden Door, multiple bodies, ladders, and tables were broken but in the end, the prophecy was fulfilled as Jack Perry captured his first sanctioned singles championship in AEW. In the end, Perry was able to stop Mark Briscoe from retrieving the championship by hitting him with several strikes with a ladder and then a steel chair before he climbed up the ladder and retrieved the title for himself.

Adam Copeland broke his leg at AEW Dynasty in a Barbed Wire Steel Cage Match with Malakai BLack which forced the championship to be vacated. Now, it has a new home on the shoulder of the "Scapegoat."
