James Ellsworth Returns To Assist Carmella In Retaining The SmackDown Live Women's Title

The "Big Hog " is back.

Carmella had her toughest test tonight thus far in her reign as SmackDown Live Women's Champion. In her way of rolling on as the head honcho of the SmackDown Live Women's division was a woman who was undefeated for nearly three years and is the longest reigning NXT Women's Champion of all-time, Asuka.

Rumors made the rounds earlier today that Carmella's former running mate James Ellsworth was in the 'Allstate Arena' and it was soon revealed why he was there. During the match Carmella could not put Asuka away despite her efforts. As Asuka began to gain control of the match an individual arose from underneath the ring wearing a robe and mask similar to what Asuka wears to the ring.

Asuka stood in awe of this person who was standing on the apron dressed like her and that individual unmasked himself and it was none other than James Ellsworth.

James Ellsworth was released from WWE in November of 2017. Prior to his release Ellsworth was an “assistant” of sorts to the then-Ms. Money In The Bank Carmella. It was at this very event last year that James Ellsworth was the certain-piece of controversy as he climbed up the ladder in the first-ever Women’s Money In The Bank Ladder match and pulled the briefcase down for Carmella. Ellsworth has stated over numerous platforms that he and Carmella had a great off-screen friendship and the “Big Hog” returned to aid his former running mate and with his help Carmella added a second loss to the record of "The Empress Of Tomorrow" Asuka.
