Janel Grant Files Motion To Strike Dr. Carlon Colker’s Bill Of Discovery, Vince McMahon's Attorney Responds

Janel Grant files a new motion, and Vince McMahon's legal team responds.

On July 16th, lawyers for former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a pre-action discovery petition against Dr. Carlon Colker and his clinic, Peak Wellness, Inc. Grant claims that she was sent to the clinic under the direction of Vince McMahon in November 2019 and received treatments that weren't disclosed to her, including pills and I.V. infusions.

Colker responded by filing a complaint and denied any improper treatment and citing numerous damages to his name and reputation from the accusations. The complaint labeled Grant’s actions as a “smear campaign” designed to “bolster her well-publicized allegations concerning alleged sex trafficking and sexual assault by World Wrestling Entertainment, Vince McMahon, and John Laurinaitis."

According to POST Wrestling, Grant has responded by filing a motion to strike Colker's bill of discovery and is seeking penalties.

Grant’s side called Colker's response a “desperate and brazen attempt to silence a former patient investigating wrongdoing related to her medical care.”

Vince McMahon's attorney, Jessica Rosenberg, would issue a response to this motion on the morning of Tuesday, August 13. In the statement, Rosenberg called the motion 'frivolous.' The full statement can be read below:

Ms. Grant first brought frivolous litigation to publicly harm Mr. McMahon’s reputation. Then, despite agreeing to pause it at the Government’s request, she continued to publicly harass Mr. McMahon and those connected to him by initiating another frivolous action against Dr. Colker and talking to the media about it. Mr. McMahon will continue to use every tool at his disposal to end this malicious and meritless pursuit by Ms. Grant.

Vince McMahon filed a motion to enforce the court-ordered stay to prevent Grant from petitioning for the records. According to McMahon, Grant violated the federal stay order by seeking discovery against Dr. Colker and Peak Wellness. His motion was denied on August 6th.

On May 30, Grant agreed to pause the lawsuit for six months while the federal investigation continued against McMahon.
