In the press release concerning the tournament it was noted that there would be 32 competitors and one competitor who competed in last year's Mae Young Classic has ruled herself out for this year's tournament.

"Alpha Female" Jazzy Gabert who lost in the first round of the inaugural Mae Young Classic shared on Twitter that she has seen all of the support from fans but she will not be in this year's M.Y.C.

In December of 2017 Gabert stated during an interview that her WWE developmental contract was rescinded because the company medical's staff discovered that she had multiple herniated discs in her neck. "Alpha Female" underwent surgery in January of this year and this past June Jazzy shared on Instagram that she was given the green light by doctors to return to in-ring competition but unfortunately for the former World Of STARDOM Champion, one ring she will not be competing in is the one inside of Full Sail next week.
