Jeff Cobb says he'd be down for a potential match with Samoa Joe.
NJPW star Jeff Cobb competed at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door 2022, where he and Great-O-Khan defended the IWGP Tag Team Championship. Cobb was on the pre-show at Forbidden Door 2023. Fans are already speculating about potential matches for the event in 2024.
In an interview with Wrestle Inn, Cobb was asked to name an AEW star he wanted to face at Forbidden Door 2024. He noted that plenty of people have been saying they want to see him face Samoa Joe, and he expressed his interest in the match.
“There’s been tons of people online lately that’s been tagging Tony Khan and putting myself against Samoa Joe. So if the stars align and we can have Samoan Joseph against Hawaiian Jeffrey, it’s totally fine by me. I’m always down to get punched in the face as long as I’m gonna be doing some of the punching as well. I think that’d be a fun little match. A lot of the time, I get compared to a lot of Samoans in my career, like Roman Reigns or The Rock or Samoa Joe, so I think it would be fun to get in the ring and mix it up with a shoot tough guy," Cobb said.
At NJPW Destruction in Ryogoku, Jeff Cobb and Tetsuya Naito will clash in an eight-man tag team match.
