Jeff Jarrett remembers his father, Jerry Jarrett.
The wrestling world was stunned on Tuesday, February 14, 2023 when it was announced that Jerry Jarrett had passed away at the age of 80. Jerry, alongside his son Jeff, launched TNA/IMPACT Wrestling back in 2002. Before that, Jerry Jarrett was a legendary wrestling promoter throughout the southern part of the United States.
Jeff Jarrett recently took to Twitter and shared a poem from his father about how even though things go wrong sometimes, it's almost important to never give up.

Tony Khan recently revealed on Wednesday's episode of Busted Open Radio that Jeff Jarrett has indicated that he still wants to wrestle on tonight's episode of AEW Dynamite. Jarrett is set to team up with Jay Lethal, Satnam Singh, and Sonjay Dutt to face the team of Orange Cassidy, The Acclaimed's Anthony Bowens & Max Caster, and 'Daddy Ass' Billy Gunn.
Conrad Thompson, who hosts the "My World" podcast with Jeff Jarrett, revealed on a recent podcast episode that Jerry had been dealing with esophagus cancer. On Ric Flair's "To Be The Man" podcast, Conrad revealed Jerry's heart "couldn't take the treatment."
"[Jerry] had been dealing with esophagus cancer for a few months, but what happened, Ric, is his heart couldn't take the treatment. So it wasn't actually the cancer that got him. It was the treatments to get rid of the cancer," said Thompson.
Conrad later revealed that Jeff Jarett is wrestling on Dynamite at the request of Jerry's widow, who told Jeff that his father would demand that he continue on and go to work.
"I can't believe this is real, but as you and I are recording this on Wednesday morning, Jeff Jarrett is in town for the AEW Dynamite show tonight. Miss Deborah, Jerry's, unfortunate to say, his widow, demanded that Jeff go. She said, 'Your dad would have demanded it. This wouldn't have been a request. He would have wanted you to go to work.' So Jeff's there, man."
