Jeff Jarett offers further comments on the resurrection of Acclaim and his role on the company's Advisory Board.
On March 4, 2024, it was announced that Acclaim, the video game publisher that published all of the WWE games until 1999 and then published two ECW games and three Legends of Wrestling video games, was being resurrected with a focus on small indie game titles and the revival of classics.
Jeff Jarrett, WWE Hall of Famer and current AEW roster member, will be on the Advisory Board of the revived company. On the latest episode of his My World podcast, Jarrett offered further comment on how he ended up getting on board with Acclaim and his excitement for the future.
"I am so damn excited about this opportunity. Alex [Josef] is the CEO; Mark Caplan, but when the opportunity came about, I didn't know that you [Conrad Thompson] were that deep into gaming way back when. But I guess you could say I'm marrying two of my worlds. I've never been the biggest gamer, but the business of gaming, I have been fascinated with way, way back. Look, I've done my Mario and all those different kinds of games, but I was attached to a WWF Acclaim game, and then, obviously, the TNA Midway game, and then my work with WrestleQuest and Mega Cat [Studios] and Acclaim, the pieces of the puzzle kind of came together. They reached out, and I jumped at it. Man, I could not be more thrilled to see where this opportunity takes me. The news hit. It's funny how different news hits inside the wrestling world and outside the wrestling world. Got quite a bit of buzz and quite a bit of traction."
