Speaking to Frank Morano, Ventura offered more insight into the talks.

"I'm back negotiating with them. We're in talks right now. I have contracts with my attorney right now with the WWE. That's happened because of the change in direction with the company. We don't know right now fully, but they want to bring me back under their legends. I'm getting older. I'm in my 70s. I guess I like to open up the door at the end and see what's left. It's not like I'm going to go back on the mic. I have to be honest, I have no idea who wrestles anymore," he said.

Ventura is a WWE Hall of Famer who worked alongside Vince McMahon as an announcer and challenged Vince and WWE over royalties in the late 1980s. Ventura went on to have a successful career in politics and acting but returned to WWE in 1999 and has made sporadic appearances over the last 25 years.
