Jinder Mahal: Tony Khan Forgot I'm The Modern Day Maharaja, I Can Get A Title Shot Anytime I Want

Jinder Mahal responds to Tony Khan.

On January 9, Tony Khan took to social media to call out a double standard he believes existed in regards to fans thinking HOOK didn't deserve a shot at the AEW World Title while they accepted Jinder Mahal getting a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

Khan noted HOOK's impressive record, which included only one singles loss, compared to Mahal's record where he had not won a singles match in a year.

Speaking on The Gorilla Position, Mahal was asked about Khan's comments.

"I think Tony Khan is forgetting I'm the Modern Day Maharaja, former WWE Champion, and being a former WWE Champion, I should be number one contender anytime I want. The Royal Rumble happened a week after that. If you notice, I wasn't in it because I didn't feel there was a need. The Modern Day Maharaja wants a title match, he can just get one. It's okay. Overall, it's great. It caused a lot of buzz, and I appreciate the competition because it makes everybody better," he said.

Mahal challenged Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Title on the January 15 episode of WWE Raw, but lost.

Elsewhere during the interview, Mahal commented on his promo segment with The Rock. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
