TNA star Joe Hendry made a surprise appearance on the June 18 episode of WWE NXT. He competed in a battle royal where the winner would earn a shot at the NXT Championship. Hendry was quickly eliminated from the match, but he subsequently teased appearing on any show at any time.
Hendry's appearance on WWE NXT gained a lot of traction online, as it was clear that fans were happy to see him on the show. On June 21, Hendry took to Twitter/X and encouraged fans to keep saying his name, singing his song, and making signs. He said that the fans made this week happen, and their voices would be heard.
