Joey Janela details incident with Big Cass.
On Sept. 14 at WrestlePro, things got out of hand when Big Cass became erratic and started to threaten wrestlers. The main target of Cass' irritation appeared to be Joey Janela, who Cass chased around the locker room before he was punched by Pat Buck and taken away by police.
Speaking to The Young Bucks in Wrestlers Ordering Room Service, Janela detailed the incident with Big Cass.
"I don't know what happened. I went outside for a smoke. I said hello to [Cass] earlier and he was like, 'Hey, what's up?' I go outside to smoke and he corners me, smacks me in the head," recalled Janela. "It caught me off guard. I'm like, 'What the fuck?' He starts chasing me like, 'Joey, I'm comin' to kill you.' Orange Cassidy is there like, 'What the hell is going on?' [Cass] starts chasing me around the locker room. It looks like an episode of Tom & Jerry. Everyone is like, 'What the fuck is going on.' I started to realize it wasn't a joke. They put me in a separate office. I'm legit scared. My gear is in the locker room so I curtain back there to see if I can get [to the locker room] and I see [Cass] opening every door. 'Bad Boy, where are you?' I got my gear, call the match, I go to Gorilla, and he charges at me, trying to get me again. Everyone is holding him back. And then the whole thing went down with SCU and Pat (Buck)."
After quickly mentioning Janela's decision not to press charges, Janela ended by saying "I feel for him. At the time of it, it was kind of funny. And then the next day, I felt like complete shit. You know when Enzo has to send an apology to me; you know it's bad."
Cass' substance abuse and depression are well-documented and while it looked like he had turned a corner, the WrestlePro incident was a setback for him. He remains away from the spotlight to focus on himself for the time being.
