John Cena Names The Most Impressive Crowd Insult Hurled His Way

John Cena reflects on ECW One Night Stand 2006.

At the show, Cena would be the defending WWE champion against ECW original Rob Van Dam. With the added venue of the Hammerstein Ballroom being in play, Cena walked into a hostile environment like he had never experienced before as a professional wrestler.

While speaking to Jake's Takes in a recent interview, Cena reflected on the event, namely the crowd throwing back his t-shirt multiple times prior to the match beginning.

"Oh I always remember the crowd at the Hammerstein Ballroom in ECW One Night Stand continuously throwing my t-shirt back at me. So I basically had to face Rob Van Dam for the WWE Championship that night. But my first match was with my own t-shirt and the ECW crowd. That's definitely a wonderful insult that I remember and I mean you don't realize the weight of that like, like someone's saying I don't want a free shirt with your face on it at an event where we go by shirts."

Cena is currently prepping for his final run as a professional wrestler, with plans to retire in 2025.

In a seperate interview, Cena commented on what his most successful year was. You can read more about that here.
