John Cena Successful In His Return To In-Ring Competition For The First Time In Five Months; Unveils His New Finisher

Former 16-time WWE World Champion John Cena announced that at the beginning of the month of August that he was going to be making his in-ring return at a WWE Live event in Shanghai, China on September 1st. This match was set to be Cena's first match for the WWE since this past April at the 'Greatest Royal Rumble' PPV in Saudi Arabia where he fell in defeat to Triple H in the opening contest of the event.

Today was the day for John Cena's return to the ring and he teamed up with Finn Balor and Bobby Lashley to take on the trio of Jinder Mahal, "Acting General Manager" Baron Corbin and Elias. Cena's return to the ring was not only about being out for five months, but Cena has also been teasing a "sixth move of doom" that he was going to unveil at this very live event and he did just that to pick up the victory for his team.

 

John Cena has been training in China for a number of weeks as he is starring in Jackie Chan's action-thriller movie 'Project X'. During a recent interview, Cena revealed that he picked up a new finisher to pay homage to his time in Shanghai and those who have taught him while he was there and that finishing move is called the "Lighting Fist".
