On Thursday, Bobby Fulton took to social media to reveal Laurinaitis' appearance has been canceled due to negative feedback.

Laurinaitis was being investigated by the WWE Board in relation to the Vince McMahon-Wall Street Journal sexual misconduct story. Fightful reported "many expected Laurinaitis to be the 'fall guy' in it from a professional standpoint." Laurinaitis was put on administrative leave as Head of Talent Relations following the Wall Street Journal report in June 2021.

The board was reportedly looking at a $1.5 million nondisclosure agreement reached in 2012 with an employee involving misconduct claims against Mr. Laurinaitis.

He was released by WWE in August 2021.
