Johnny Gargano: WWE Has A Gold Mine In Austin Theory And Indi Hartwell, I Hope They Take Advantage

Johnny Gargano still hopes the best for his "kids."

Gargano is taking a break from wrestling following his WWE contract expiring in December as his wife Candice LeRae, who is still signed to WWE, is set to deliver their baby in February. While they are away, Austin Theory and Indi Hartwell, who were aligned with the Gargano family on NXT TV, have remained active with Theory becoming an intragal part of WWE Raw in segments with Vince McMahon and Hartwell continuing her role in NXT.

Speaking to Connor Casey of ComicBook, Gargano weighed in on the success of Indi and Austin.

"It feels like Austin just kind of went from me being his father figure to Vince McMahon now being his father figure. But yeah, it's wild, man. I'm so happy for him because he does work really, really hard. And Austin and Indi (Hartwell) both, it was always my mission this past year to put them in a position to where they could be Superstars. And they're so young and they're so talented, the both of them, and I feel like WWE has such a gold mine in Austin and Indi that I hope they take advantage of it because I feel like they can make that company a lot of money for many, many years. But yeah, it's so cool to see. I left a comment on one of his Instagram posts and told him to go become WWE Champion because he's got all the tools to do it. So it's just very cool to see him get that opportunity," he said.

Hartwell was in action on Tuesday's NXT, teaming with Wendy Choo and Persia Pirotta to defeat Kacy Catanzaro, Kayden Carter, and Amari Miller. If you missed anything from Tuesday's NXT, check out Fightful's full report on the show by clicking here.

Gargano launched a Twitch channel following his departure from WWE and has said that he wants to give people a rest from him while spending time with his family. You can find his full comments on his break by clicking here.
