Jon Jones On Working With WWE: It's Inevitable

Already one of the greatest UFC fighters of all-time, Jon Jones could be looking at another sport to conquer.

Fresh off his UFC 247 victory over Dominick Reyes, Jon Jones spoke with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated about the possibility of working with WWE in the future.

“I think it’s inevitable,” said Jones. “I’ve always respected WWE, and I feel like the sports can be so similar. I have the size and athleticism and the following to transition over really well. To get the opportunity to just show up, even as a special guest, would be a dream come true.”

Jones and WWE have been linked in the past, most notably when it comes to Brock Lesnar. After defeating Daniel Cormier at UFC 214, Jones famously called out Brock Lesnar. The fight never came to fruition as Jones failed a USADA test and was hit with a 15-month suspension. A fight between Cormier and Lesnar was teased during Jones' time away from the Octagon, but that too never happened with Lesnar deciding to further commit to WWE.

Cain Velasquez recently made the jump from UFC to WWE and there has been a long history of MMA to wrestling success stories including Matt Riddle, Tom Lawlor, and Shayna Baszler.
