Jon Moxley Claims He Was Paid $500 For The Shield's 'Final Chapter' WWE Network Special

Moxley claims he was only paid $500 for the Network special.

It was initially reported in late January by Wade Keller of PWTorch that former WWE Champion Dean Ambrose, now going by Jon Moxley was choosing not to re-sign with WWE and was opting to head into free agency after WrestleMania 35. WWE soon confirmed this news with a press release of their own which included positive remarks about Moxley and noting that the company hopes he will return. Moxley openly admitted during Chris Jericho's Talk Is Jericho podcast that he had been creatively frustrated for quite some time in the sports-entertainment company.

Moxley went on to have feuds with Drew McIntyre, EC3 and various members of the RAW roster on his way out of WWE. Jon's last match in the company was at a house show in Illinois where he teamed with Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in an event that was streamed on the WWE Network entitled 'The Shield's Final Chapter'. Formerly known as "The Lunatic Fringe", Moxley shared that he was paid $500 for the special and was going to ask about his low pay but figured he'd let it go and move on.

“You know how much I got paid for the last show I did… this is literally, they turned this into a special. Flew in writers and cameramen or whatever, put it on the Network, basically for me. $500 dollars, got paid $500 bucks for that sucker. I can just imagine Vince and Corona and them at the... 'Oh what are we gonna pay…. $500 bucks, screw him’, which is like, that is the minimum that you get to just show up and not work. If you show up to TV and they don’t use you, you get $500 bucks." Moxley shared. "I think that’s what extras get. That’s like the minimum. $500 bucks for the Network special, come on. I thought about calling him [Vince McMahon] for a second but I’m like, ‘Nah, it’s funnier to just…’”

Moxley waited until midnight struck on April 30th to announce that he was returning outside the walls of WWE as Jon Moxley and since went on to sign a contract with All Elite Wrestling.
