Jon Moxley is number one.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated announced Jon Moxley has topped its annual PWI 500 list. This marks the first time Moxley has been at the top of the list. He finished 20th on the 2019 list, which was topped by Moxley's former running mate Seth Rollins.
The evaluation period for this year's PWI 500 is July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020. The criteria for ranking includes win-loss record, technical ability, influence on the sport, success against the highest grade of competition, success against the most diverse competition, and activity.
Moxley had a strong overall year, winning the majority of his matches in AEW and NJPW while capturing the AEW World Title and the IWGP United States Title. He still holds both of those titles. Moxley has finished in the top 30 in the PWI 500 each year since 2013, except for an injury-riddled 2018 where he finished #106.
Since the cover is already making its way around online, no point in waiting any longer: Congratulations to @AEWrestling's @JonMoxley on being the #1 ranked wrestler in this year’s PWI 500! Preorder your print copy now at https://t.co/EuUXs75XJB pic.twitter.com/O0JrkyvJ6U
