Jordan Oliver Thought Jonathan Gresham Would Expose Him In The Ring, Wants To Test Himself Again

Jordan Oliver soared to the top of the independent pro wrestling scene at JCW J-Cup when he won the Jersey J-Cup by defeating "Speedball" Mike Bailey in the finals.

In one day, Oliver defeated Alex Shelley, Charles Mason, Joey Janela, and Bailey to win the J-Cup and become JCW Champion.

WWE Announces Lineup For Friday's NXT Level Up

With GCW The Collective coming up and the wrestling world converging on Los Angeles for the weekend, Oliver spoke with Fightful and was asked who he would like to wrestle in the further, whether it be during The Collective of beyond.

"Kazuchika Okada," he said without hesitation.

Looking at targets who are currently active on the independent scene, Oliver named Jonathan Gresham and explained why he was initially afraid to face Gresham.

"On the Indies, it would have been like Jon Gresham, and I got to wrestle him right after my first Japanese tour. I was very scared for a Jonathan Gresham match for many years. Even a year ago, Brett (Lauderdale) said, 'Do you want to wrestle Jon Gresham?' I just didn't respond to the message because I was so frightened that he would expose me and I would be so terrible. Obviously, that wasn't the case, but Jonathan Gresham, still, I want to wrestle him again. I want to see where I'm at six months past that. Zack Sabre Jr is someone that I would love to wrestle if he had an American tour. I've never wrestled TJP or guys like that," he said.

Oliver and Gresham met at GCW Fight Club 2022: Mox Vs. Gage II in November 2022.

Thus far, the only bout Oliver has announced for The Collective is a tag team bout where he'll team with Nick Wayne to take on The Moonlight Express (“Speedball” Mike Bailey & MAO).

Elsewhere during the interview, Oliver discussed Alex Shelley taking him under his wing. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
