Karen Jarrett Had Fun Being Involved With Ric Flair's Last Match, Hopes Something Comes Of It

Being a part of Ric Flair's Last Match made Karen Jarrett realize that she missed performing.

Karen was involved in the storyline leading up to the legend's first bout since 2011, and she appeared multiple segments leading up to the show, She also accompanied her husband, Jeff Jarrett to the ring and was featured at ringside during the contest.

Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Karen looked back on her experience throughout Starrcast weekend and stated that she had fun. She noted that being involved with the story surrounding Flair's return to the ring brought her back to her younger days as a wrestling fan.

“Insane. I’m sad it’s over. So sad it’s over. It was so fun. It was so fun. Just the way everybody bought into it and was on the ride with us, it reminded me of us when I was younger and I watched wrestling, and those storylines where you really hated somebody. People really hated us," she said.

Van Vliet and Karen then discussed Jeff's return to WWE as the Senior Vice President of Live Events. When asked whether fans might see her appear on WWE TV, she noted that she wasn't sure, but performing at Ric Flair's Last Match reignited her interest in the business.

“I don’t know. For about four years, I had zero desire to do anything wrestling related. I was very happy being the wife, being the mom, just out of the drama. This whole thing, because of the storyline and it wasn’t just a match that was thrown out there, I am sucked so far back in. I hope something comes of it, I want something to come of it, no matter where it is. But my husband went and took a damn senior Vice President job," she said before she trailed off with a laugh.

To clarify, she made it clear that she isn't limited to working alongside Jeff.

“No, no, and he tells people, ‘Hey, I don’t need to be there.’ He wants me to pursue my dreams, whatever they are," Karen said.

She admitted that she didn't realize that performing is still her dream and expressed that she misses it.

“I didn’t realize this was gonna be my dream again. I love when you feel it. When I grew up, I was a huge Sherri Martel fan. I’ve missed, Cody watches it. Jeff obviously watches it, and I’ll catch, whether it’s AEW, WWE, IMPACT, whatever it is, I’ll see little bits here or there. But I feel like there’s no one you can really hate, like hate, like where you turn off the TV and you’re so upset. That doesn’t happen anymore, or it doesn’t happen for me," Karen said.

When Van Vliet noted that her heel persona isn't like her true personality, Karen responded, “I think that’s why it’s so fun for me though. I love going out there and being a heel."

Jeff Jarrett recently departed WWE, and it's unclear what his future holds. He will be involved with a fundraiser for Steve "Mongo" McMichael on September 3. More information is available here.
