The OC are among the names cut from WWE.
Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows were released in the Wednesday wave of cuts by WWE in relation to the financial issues caused by COVID-19. The two had been heavily featured as a part of The OC with AJ Styles, even appearing in the main event of night 1 of WrestleMania 36 in the Boneyard match against the Undertaker.
Gallows and Anderson signed with WWE in 2016, where they were placed with Styles. They became two-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champions along the way, but for years were barely used or put in roles where they consistently lost. The situation came to a head in 2019 when the two were poised to become big free agents in a booming wrestling market, but re-signed with WWE reportedly for five years and over $700,000 each. Now, they've been released from those contracts.
This ends Gallows' second run with WWE, as he previously performed for the company a decade ago, as well. Anderson is a founding member of Bullet Club in NJPW, which has launched numerous careers.
