Don't get it twisted.
Kenny King is more than just a wrestler as he has appeared on Nickelodeon, The Bachelorette, and other television programming during his life. He's also been a Chippendale dancer.
But make no mistake about it, he has never "made it clap."
"Let me clarify, I have never once, ever in my life, made it clap," he told Renee Paquette on The Sessions after she asked about his time as a Chippendale dancer and "making it clap."
King continued, "Now that we have that out of the way. That's how everything ties together. There is a guy that I know from Orlando that was living with me. He was a singer for the European Chippendales tour. He wrote three songs on the No Strings Attached, N*Sync album. He's an Orlando guy. He was like, 'Would you want to travel and going on tour with Chippendales?' 'No, I'm cool. Thanks.' He's like, 'You might want to do this. It's a pretty cool gig.' 'No, man, I'm cool.' I think it was his birthday. 'It's my birthday, we're going to go to Chippendales so you can see the show.' I'm like, 'Bro, I don't want to do this. What makes you think I want to go and watch a bunch of dudes in banana hammocks and oiling each other? I'm cool.' 'It's my birthday, bro. You don't have a choice.' Fine, whatever. I go to the show and see 600-700 women in the audience and I see what it is. It's not like a strip club or Magic Mike, it's a choreographed show with set changes and wardrobe. I'm looking at the choreography and I'm like, 'alright, that's like wrestling spots, that's alright.' I'm looking at 700 women go crazy in the crowd. There are no tips, you get paid per show. After, there are pictures where women come up and take pictures with you, and that's like the only tipping situation. I was like, 'I'm not doing anything this summer, I can take a month off.' I went to Europe for two months. My very first show at Berlin Arena, we drew 8,000 women. At that point, I'd had drawn more than like 500 people at a wrestling show."
King said he returned to the Chippendales stage in Vegas from 2010 to 2015 and was on three best-selling calendars.
Again, let the record show, he never made it clap.
Elsewhere during the interview, King discussed the current state of his former home ROH. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
