Kenny Omega will return to AAA Lucha Libre for TripleMania 28.
During the TripleMania 28 press conference (via LuchaBlog), it was announced that Omega will defend his AAA Mega Championship against Laredo Kid. The will mark Omega's first defense of the title in AAA since December 2019 when he defeated Dragon Lee. Omega defended the belt against Sammy Guevara on a March episode of AEW Dynamite.
Also announced for the show is Chessman vs. Pagano in a hair vs. hair match. Plus, Aracno & Leyenda Americana vs Terror Purpura & Venenoide in a Marvel tie-in match and La Parka will be added to the AAA Hall Of Fame during the show.

It is unknown when TripleMania will take place, but AAA CEO Dorian Roldan says the promotion is hoping to run the event in December, pending Arena Ciudad de Mexico health conditions. The health code will need to drop from orange to at least yellow or the government will need to sign off on the show.
TripleMania 28 is set to be a seven-match card and they are still working on a TV deal. The show will be postponed if necessary.
Fightful will continue to update fans on the status of TripleMania as more is known.
