Karina Steen, the wife of WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens, has deleted her Instagram account because of online bullying. Deleting the account means that none of her previous posts now are available to be viewed.
Earlier this year, one of Steen's Instagram posts drew a high amount of attention online, as it depicted the Steens' son, Owen, reacting to his father becoming Universal Champion. ESPN analyst Amin El Hassan replied to the video, posting "Until someone told him it was scripted", then proceeded to continue to deride professional wrestling in general in several subsequent posts. He ultimately apologized to Owens and his family for the remarks.
Owens and his wife have two children.
Owens is set to defend the Universal Title against Seth Rollins this Sunday at Hell in a Cell from Boston. This will be the first time Owens has been part of a Hell in a Cell Match.
Prior to that, Owens' exploits in WWE have included one reign as NXT Champion, and a pair of runs as Intercontinental Champion.
Owens, who made his wrestling debut in 2000 when he was just 16 years old, also is a former ROH World Champion and PWG World Champion. He also has won the tag titles for both promotions, doing so in both companies with El Generico--now known as WWE cohort Sami Zayn.
Owens' current status as Universal Champion has drawn criticism from wrestling personalities such as Vince Russo and Jim Cornette, but Owens has refuted the critiques from both individuals.
