Kris Statlander retained the gold, and Jade Cargill showed her some respect after the bell.
Statlander beat Cargill in an impromptu match at AEW Double or Nothing to win the TBS Championship. Cargill took some time away and returned on the September 9 episode of AEW Collision. There, she attacked Statlander to set the stage for a rematch.
The two stars headlined the September 15 episode of AEW Collision, and they battled it out. The powerhouses threw everything they had at each other, and in the closing moments, Mark Sterling tried to get involved. However, his attempted interference backfired, and Statlander scored the win. After the match, Cargill raised Statlander's arm, and they hugged in an emotional moment.
