Kurt Angle had a lot to do with the growth of John Cena. Kurt Angle was John Cena's first opponent on the WWE main roster and continued to fight John at pivotal points in his career.
While re-watching the July 4, 2005 episode of WWE Raw on the most recent episode of his podcast, Kurt Angle stated that he believes John Cena has had the most successful WWE career of all time.
"John Cena, he was maybe two or three years in the business by this time, and here he is on top. I mean, this kid picked it up very quickly, and he had arguably the best career in WWE history," said Angle. "He did win sixteen World Heavyweight Titles in WWE specifically. No one's ever done that."
Angle's co-host, Paul Bromwell, mentioned Roman Reigns. Leading angle to say that "The Tribal Chief" could surpass Cena's record should he choose to stick around in WWE. However, Angle isn't sure that will be the case.
"He's going to break the record. If he doesn't skip and go to Hollywood and become a movie star, which I think he's going to do," said Angle of Roman Reigns.
