KUSHIDA Says That Competing In SGW Would Be "Interesting"

KUSHIDA thinks that competing in SGW would be interesting.

Soft Ground Wrestling has blown up on social media in recent months, especially with appearances from wrestlers like Mace, Mansoor, and Tate Mayfairs. Other big names like Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland have also expressed interest in competing for the promotion.

While speaking to Tokyo Sports for a new interview, KUSHIDA talked about making NJPW a global company, noting that he wants to wrestle in countries he has never competed in before like Uganda, the home of SGW.

"I think New Japan Pro Wrestling can become a company that can be proud of around the world. Of course the U.S. tournament is important, and I fully agree with what Yota Tsuji said about focusing on Asia. That's where we can make a name for ourselves in the world.'' I think that KUSHIDA, which has been selling products for many years, still has a role to play. If I win the IWGP Junior at this point in my career, I think a different scene will open up. I want to do it in countries I've never done before. Wouldn't Uganda be interesting?"
