LA Knight isn't interested in trading passion for glory as WWE United States Champion.
On the October 11th edition of Friday Night SmackDown, LA Knight defended his WWE United States Championship vs Carmelo Hayes. During the bout, Andrade El Idolo would make his way down to ringside as Knight would eventually defeat Hayes and retain his championship.
On The SmackDown Lowdown after the show, LA Knight was interviewed by Byron Saxton and sent a message to both Andrade El Idolo and Carmelo Hayes and quoted 'Eye Of The Tiger'.
"Here's the deal. You want to talk about Andrade and Melo. The way I look at this, man, two guys that it's not that I don't like them. I don't dislike either of you. It's really more than anything, you're just kind of an annoyance. You're kind of that fly that just kind of keeps getting in my face. I don't sweat you, but I will swat you. I've swatted you a few times. I've knocked you down a couple times to where you've disappeared for just a little bit, enough to just come regroup again and come right back in here, and as soon as you do that, my man, at some point, it's not going to be a swat anymore. I will squash you. So if you keep coming and you're looking for this, I tell you what, you're not going to find a lot but a big old goose egg for your troubles. A lot of people say, man, you sound so angry right now. You sound so unhappy right now. Why don't you smile more? Let me smile right now. I'm smiling big for you. Why? I'll tell you why. U.S. champion right here. Why don't I smile more? Why am I so unhappy? I'll tell you why. Because you think that for one second I'm going to stand here and just start celebrating and all of a sudden get off my game? No, no. I'll tell you what. Why don't we go ahead and look at a little song quote. I bet you like this song. A little Eye of the Tiger, huh? They say, look, too many times you trade your passion for glory, huh? Yeah. Well, that ain't what I'm doing. That ain't what I'm doing, because I got the glory right here. I got the glory in the United States Championship, and that's all I need to do. I don't need to lose my focus. I don't need to lose my focus on the fact that everybody's coming to get this thing. You see Andrade come out there. You see Melo one more time. Must be a glutton for punishment because every time he wants to come knocking my door, BFT for his troubles three the hard way. The end is always the same. The end is always U.S. champion still with everybody saying L.A. Knight."
Andrade and Carmelo are scheduled for the 7th match in their series on next week's SmackDown, as they currently are tied at three wins apiece.
