WWE announced that LA Knight and The Miz will go one-on-one at WWE Payback on September 2.
The match was made official on the August 25 episode of WWE SmackDown.
The rivalry between The Miz and LA Knight kicked off after WWE SummerSlam and LA Knight gaining extra publicity for winning the Slim Jim Battle Royal. The two men have gone toe-to-toe on the microphone and cost each other recent matches.
On Friday's WWE SmackDown, LA Knight said that if Miz wanted to "end LA Knight," then he would welcome that challenge. Knight ended his SmackDown promo by paying tribute to Bray Wyatt, telling Miz to "run."
