Lee Moriarty has a new business partner.
On the July 29 episode of AEW Rampage, Moriarty faced his teacher and his mentor, Matt Sydal. Near the end of the competitive bout, Stokely Hathaway came to ringside and distracted Sydal. He hit the veteran while he was on the top rope, and the interference tipped the momentum in Moriarty's favor. He then scored the win by making the veteran tap out to the Border City Stretch.
After the bell, Hathaway got into the ring, and when he offered Moriarty his business card, the latter accepted it.

Previously, Hathaway tried to recruit Moriarty and openly questioning how far Sydal could take the young star in his promising career. Clearly, his efforts paid off. Moriarty now joins Hathaway's other client, TBS Champion Jade Cargill. In doing so, he'll hope to start stringing together more meaningful wins like the one he scored on Rampage.
