The main event is set.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling confirmed that NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17 will be headlined by Jay White defending the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against G1 Climax winner Kazuchika Okada.
The bout was made official at NJPW Declaration of Power in the closing segment. White had successfully defended the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship against Tama Tonga and was cutting his post-match promo when Okada, who picked up a victory over JONAH in the co-main event, entered the ring.
The two men stood face-to-face as it was announced that they would headline the Tokyo Dome on January 4, 2023 at NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 17.
