Sorry simps, Maki Itoh is going back to Japan.
Maki Itoh quickly became the fan favorite from the Japanese bracket of the recent Women's Eliminator Tournament. An unfortunate circumstance that would see Rebel unable to compete alongside Britt Baker at AEW Revolution, Maki Itoh was given an opportunity to debut in front of the American AEW audience.
Successfully competing in her debut match at Revolution and in a tag team match on the following episode of AEW Dynamite, Maki Itoh’s last appearance, for now occurred on the debut episode of AEW Dark: Elevation. Itoh competed in a losing effort against inaugural AEW Women's Champion, Riho.
Itoh revealed the news that is sure to break the hearts of some, Twitter. Noting that she would be heading back to Japan and that at this time, there is no set date for her return to the United States.
