Maki Itoh has arrived in America!
After becoming the blow-away fan favorite from the Japanese side of the bracket for the recent AEW Women's Eliminator Tournament, fans were wondering when they would next see Maki Itoh and when she would possibly appear in America.
They would not have to wait for long.
It was announced on the day of AEW Revolution that Reba would not be able to team with Dr. Britt Baker and Baker would need a replacement partner. Maki Itoh was that replacement partner.
.@maki_itoh is here in Jacksonville, FL at @dailysplace for your #AEWRevolution buy-in.

Excalibur would say that Itoh was on an 18-hour flight to make it to Revolution. Itoh and Baker Would go on to defeat Thunder Rosa and Riho when Reba used her crutch on Rosa, allowing Baker to score the fall.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Fightful, Maki Itoh said she was pleasantly surprised with her American fandom, wanting to not have her "simps" waiting for long.
"It hasn’t really hit me yet; right now it feels like just the internet is buzzing about Maki Itoh.
If we go back to filling venues with crowds, if I get to be there in person, and if the roof blows off when I ask, 'Who is the cutest in the world?' and the fans respond with 'Itoh-chaaaaaaaan!', then I might cry from joy!"
Kenny Omega, an EVP how's the promotion recently stated that he would love to see Maki in America as long as it was suitable and realistically possible.
"Will we see her back? It’s not something you really answer with a yes or no because there are so many hurdles to clear to get people from country to country in this day and age due to all the travel restrictions, and she has another schedule she needs to follow in Japan which requires the mandatory two-week quarantine where you have to do nothing. But we’re not stupid. I’m not stupid. I do know there is a demand for her and I’d love people to see her live as well. It’s not even for me to decide. If I can snap my fingers and have her appear in Florida and then yeah I could easily say yes you are going to see her, but it’s more complicated than that.”
