Mark Flitman, Producer For WWF Raw On SEGA 32X, Thinks Kwang Addition May Have Been A WWE Suggestion

Former Acclaim producer Mark Flitman discusses the addition of Kwang to the WWF Raw video game on the Sega 32X.

Until the WWF Raw video game was released on Sega 32X, there had never been a hidden character in a console WWE video game. That all changed when Kwang was added to the roster of WWF Raw as a special final boss in the arcade ladder "Tournament" mode. Kwang was also playable by inserting a code during the startup menu.

Dijak: I Got A Text, 'We Have You On Main Event.' F*ck. Shit. That's A Death Sentence

Mark Flitman was recently interviewed by Jim Valley of F4Wonline (subscription required) and when asked about the inclusion of Savio Vega's alter ego, all he could say was that he wasn't sure how it happened but that it may have been a suggestion that came directly from the higher-ups at WWE.

"That's a good question. I don't remember. But probably at the time, that sounds like something that maybe the WWF suggested. Because it's not someone that would pop into my head. I'm not a dictator. Games are a community. I'm sure somebody had some reason to want him in the game and we probably said, 'Okay.' Or maybe WWF was thinking that they were going to try and promote them and feature them."

Savio Vega himself was not even aware of his inclusion in Raw. He previously discussed his placement in the video game during an interview with Sean Ross Sapp. Read his comments here.
