Mark Shapiro: Betting On WWE Is Not Happening

Mark Shapiro says there won't be betting on WWE in the United States.

While fans overseas can use BetOnline to bet on wrestling, those in the United States hoping to use their favorite betting app to place money on the outcome of WrestleMania will be disappointed.

"Not happening. It's not happening," TKO President Mark Shapiro told Alex Sherman of CNBC when asked about betting on WWE. "We're scripted. Years ago, I ran Dick Clark productions, we had enough of a challenge keeping the American Music Awards and Golden Globe winners under wraps with an auditor there. We're not going to be asking Triple H to keep his scripts so under wrap that we can start sports betting."

If you would like to bet on WWE, BetOnline has you covered.

Elsewhere during the interview, Shapiro revealed he recently had breakfast with Vince McMahon. You can find his comments on the one-on-one by clicking here.
