Matt Taven And Volador Jr. Have Their Heads Shaved After Losing The Hair Vs. Hair Match At CMLL's 85th Anniversary Show

Its a wrap for Taven and Volador Jr.

On September 14th CMLL celebrated 85 years as a professional wrestling promotion by presenting the CMLL 85th Anniversary show live from 'Arena Mexico' in Mexico City, Mexico. This is the biggest event of the year for CMLL and the anniversary show is the longest-running annual pro wrestling event. There were six matches that took place on the card with all six being tag team bouts in-which each match was contested under 2-out-of-three-falls rules.

The main event of the show saw a two-out-of-three-falls bout but the stipulation hovering over the match was that the losing team would have their heads shaved. The former NWA World Historic Welterweight Champion Matt Taven teamed up with Volador Jr. who Taven lost that very title to last month at 'Negro Casas 40th Anniversary Show'. The two men took on the tandem of Rush and Bárbaro Cavernario. As the match was nearing its end, Taven attempted to hit a "Diaster Kick" but he missed the mark and the kick landed on Volador Jr. This left Volador Jr. vulnerable and Rush capitalized on the mistake by finishing Volador off with a "Jay Driller" to secure the match and avoiding having he and his partner's heads shaved. Following the match Taven turned his back on Volador Jr and shortly after Taven attempted to exit the ring but he was brought back into the ring by Volador so that he could have his head shaved. The current NWA World Historic Welterweight Champion Volador Jr. then willingly kneeled down to have his hair cut as well as he and Taven lost the match.

Results from CMLL's 85th anniversary show will be posted here on the site soon so keep your eyes on the lookout for those.
