Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.
Everyone knows that Maven was a WWE Superstar from 2001 until 2005. However, the former WWE superstar has also worked for companies like HSN and even hosted on BET. In his latest YouTube video, the inaugural winner of WWE Tough Enough discusses many of his financial woes throughout his career.
Of note, the former WWE Hardcore Champion revealed that he lost $15,000 trying to make it in Hollywood as a producer. Perhaps even more damning to his sole attempt at being a movie producer, Maven admits that he never even saw the film he produced that lost him so much money.
"Why did I find myself in LA? Well, I was meeting with casting directors, I was meeting with agents, and I was meeting with people following my appearance on The Surreal Life. Adding insult to injury, in 2010, I thought I found my answer: my get-rich-quick scheme where I became an executive producer on a movie, and everybody knows it's common knowledge that people in the movie business make money, don't they? They never lose out. Well, I did. I lost 15 grand on a movie I invested in that, to this day, I have never seen one time. "
Maven's IMDb has him listed as a producer on The Man Behind the Curtain, released in 2013. He's also listed as having an acting role in the film where he played "The Stalker."
