Mercedes Mone Comments On Long-Awaited Return Of WWE Evolution, 'It's About Time'

Mercedes Mone comments on the upcoming WWE Evolution pay-per-view.

Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks, was a part of so many firsts during her time in WWE. She competed in the first women's pay-per-view main event, the first women's Hell in a Cell match, the first women's Royal Rumble, and the first singles women's headlining match at WrestleMania, as well as being featured on the inaugural WWE Evolution pay-per-view.

Now, WWE is bringing back the WWE Evolution pay-per-view after seven years, and although she is now happily working for AEW, Mercedes Mone is sharing her thoughts on the upcoming event. During a recent Instagram Live discussion, Mone said that she is happy for the women who get to perform and will always support the concept. However, she feels like WWE waited way too long to organize another all-women card.

"I think it's about time. They waited way too long to have an all-women's pay-per-view. But I love and I will always support and be a huge advocate for women's wrestling, so I am excited for that and for the women that get to perform on that."

Mercedes recently made history of her own, competing in her 1,000th match on the 300th episode of AEW Dynamite. Learn more here.
