Mercedes Mone will defend the gold.
On the July 10 episode of AEW Dynamite, AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Mone reiterated that she refused to face Britt Baker for her title. Baker previously challenged Mone to a title match on the July 3 episode of AEW Dynamite.
On her Instagram livestream on July 10, Mercedes Mone issued an open challenge for the AEW TBS Championship for the July 17 episode of AEW Dynamite. Mone also posted about the open challenge on Twitter/X. She clarified that the challenge was to any woman on the AEW roster.
To celebrate #AEWDynamite250 next week in Little Rock, I am going to have an open challenge for my TBS Title. The challenge is open to any woman on the AEW Roster except @RealBrittBaker

As of this writing, the open challenge has yet to be confirmed by AEW.
