On the September 27, 1999 episode of WWE Raw, Mick Foley and The Rock delivered one of the most memorable and highest rated segments of all time when Foley presented "This Is Your Life" to The Rock.
The segment went over its allotted time, but did an 8.4 rating, earning Foley and Rock extra trust from Vince McMahon.
"There have been other attempts to try to recreate that. They just [shakes head]. I don’t think anyone is going to get it like that because, part of the beauty, is that it was so loosely produced. Dwayne [The Rock] did have the chance to just make it a star vehicle with so little effort. When it was clear that we had not tanked it, but instead did the exact opposite of tanking, we went in bold pursuit of Mr. McMahon and that’s when we walked away with the agreement that we could do whatever we wanted from that point on," recalled Foley on a Raw Retrospective.
Alexa Bliss and Bayley infamously tried to recreate "This Is Your Life" in 2017, to much less success and fanfare.
WWE Raw premieres on Netflix on January 6.
