Mickey Rourke Regrets Putting On 70 Pounds For Role In 'The Wrestler'

In 2008, Rourke starred as Randy 'The Ram' Robinson, an aging professional wrestler who was nearing the end of his career. Rourke would have multiple match sequences in the movie, and would feature as part of WrestleMania 25 to help promote the movie.

In a new Instagram post, Rourke reflected on gaining 70 pounds for the role, noting that he regrets it and tha the never said he was the sharpest pencil in the box.

Rourke would end up being nominated for the best leading actor award at the Academy Awards.
