Mike Santana closed the chapter with Santana.
On the October 27 episode of AEW Rampage, Mike Santana battled his former tag team partner Ortiz in a No Disqualification Match.
Ortiz took the fight to Santana and hit him with a garbage can. He also hit him with a kendo stick. Santana took control with a diving moonsault. Ortiz powerbombed Santana onto a table. Santana fired back with a suplex off the apron and onto some chairs.
They kept battling back and forth. Santana rocked Ortiz with a discus lariat and slammed him to the mat with a powerbomb for the win. He talked to Ortiz after the bout and asked for fist bump, but Ortiz refused.

After the bell, Sonjay Dutt came out and tried to recruit Ortiz, who clearly was not interested.
Santana missed over a year due to an ACL injury he suffered in June 2022. He returned ahead of AEW All in in August 2023. Santana and Ortiz, who reportedly had issues in real life, teamed up in the Stadium Stampede match at the pay-per-view. Santana then stated that he was going down a new path by himseldf, and they had been feuding ever since.
