Santana missed over a year with a leg injury that he suffered on June 29, 2022, at AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts. He returned ahead of AEW All In, and in his first match back, he competed in the Stadium Stampede match. Santana then started feuding with his former tag team partner, Ortiz. Santana last wrestled for AEW on the October 27 episode of AEW Rampage, where he beat Ortiz. In recent months, he has also wrestled for House of Glory.
Santana previously reflected on his absence and his road to recovery. Check out his comments here.
