Santana missed over a year with a leg injury that he suffered on June 29, 2022, at AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts. Santana last wrestled for AEW on the October 27 episode of AEW Rampage, where he beat Ortiz. In recent months, he has also wrestled for House of Glory.

Santana previously reflected on his absence and his road to recovery. Check out his comments here.
