The Miz: Selfishly, I Want To Be In The Ring With John Cena Even More; I Also Want WWE's Younger Talent To Experience That

The Miz says he selfishly wants to wrestle John Cena even more than he already has. Still, he also wants the next generation of WWE Superstars to get the opportunity to be in the ring with Cena before he retires in 2025.

The Miz has had many pivotal career moments with John Cena. John squashed Miz on pay-per-view at the 2009 WWE The Bash event in a moment that forced Miz to get serious about his craft. Miz even went against John on two occasions at WrestleMania; only three other wrestlers can say that.

With John Cena retiring in 2025, The Miz tells Shakiel Mahjouri of SHAK Wrestling that he wants to be part of the list of wrestlers working with John on this retirement tour. However, Miz also knows it will be important for the younger stars in today's WWE locker room to get the opportunity to work with John Cena so they can learn from one of the best of all time.

"I am putting my name in the hat of people that want to face John Cena [or] be beside John Cena because, selfishly, I've been in the ring a lot with John Cena, and I want more. That's how much fun it is getting into the ring with John Cena. I also want our new talent to experience John Cena because as much as I was taught by John and I can teach what John taught me, It's always better when you have that guy there to teach you. So, I really want our younger talent to just feel that energy."

John Cena currently says he's in no position to handpick opponents on this retirement tour. Read his comments at this link.

CM Punk, another wrestler who wrestled John Cena quite a lot in the 2010s, has also put his name in the hat for one more match with Cena.
